Girls Weekend {The Elms}

A few friends and I had a wonderful weekend overnight getaway last Thursday. We keep referring to it as a weekend even though we were only away from our dear husbands and children for 36 hours. It's amazing how refreshing a quick trip was for all of us.

We stayed at a hotel and spa, The Ems, just over an hour away from Lawrence. It was such a lovely hotel!

It's located in the small town of Excelsior Springs, MO. We went into town on Thursday night and had dinner at a little Italian restaurant, it was delicious!

All dressed and ready for dinner!

We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub after dinner. I was the first to go to bed (no surprise there!) and slept the longest uninterrupted stretch of sleep since Weldon was born. It was amazing!

We had a wonderful breakfast at the hotel restaraunt the next morning and then lounged by the pool for a while. It was so relaxing!

No girls weekend is complete without a little shopping trip! We spent Friday afternoon at the Country Club Plaza in downtown Kanasa City. There were all kinds of great sales going on so we all found a little something to bring home!

We ended the weekend with appetizers and drinks on the upstairs porch at Brio on the Plaza.

I'm so thankful for good friends to spend relaxing and refreshing times with!

Weldon {3 Months Old}

Well this is a few weeks late...

I absolutely adore having a little boy! I honestly wasn't sure how much I would like it after having a girl but it is so different and oh so wonderful!! This little boy completely melts my heart and I just adore him!

He is so easy going but also loves a schedule. He's still on a 3 hour cycle during the day (boy loves to eat!) and sleeping 5-6 hour stretches at night. Last week he even slept from 9-5am!! I felt so rested the next day. Hoping that starts happening more and more!

It's crazy how big he already is!! He is a long and lean baby. Weldon is already wearing mostly 3-6 and 6 month clothing. He is still in Size 2 diapers. I will find out his measurements in a few weeks at his 4 month appointment.

Weldon has started rolling over (both ways). He is still mostly sleeping on his back or on his side. I love when they start sleeping on their tummys (a better night sleep)! I am finding that Weldon really prefers sucking his thumb to a pacifier. The pacifier does calm him down but when he is in his crib he often sucks his thumb.

Weldon is also starting to find his voice and is "talking" with me now. I love his little squeals and laughter! He is full of smiles all the time and I just adore it!

Having our little man in our lives is such a joy! Some days we even like to coordinate! ;)

Date Night {Wedding}

Will and I had our first big date night since Weldon was born. I love my children oh so much but I sure did enjoy an evening away.

Will and I went to a friend's wedding in Kansas City. I really liked the venue and the food was delicious, catered by Oklahoma Joes BBQ.

It was really fun to get dressed up too! The dress I wore is from our rehearsal dinner (5 years ago)! It was actually the first time I wore it since then too.

Me and my handsome date!

My delicious plate of food! :)

We ended the night with some fun dancing too! So thankful for a night out with my husband!

Miss USA {Viewing Party}

I always love watching the Miss USA pageant every year! This year I decided to have a little get together with friends, dress up, make girly cocktails and watch the pageant. We had a great time and I definitely want to do it again next year!

Here are a few of us all dressed up.

April, Sarah and I were all excited when our home states were represented in the Top 20!

Eliza even stayed up to see my friends come over and take a picture with momma. Will jokingly said that she's Little Toddler Kansas. :)
