40 Weeks...

Well, I've officially been pregnant longer with Weldon than Eliza. I am 40 weeks 1 day today and oh so ready to meet our son!

I'm scheduled for an induction tomorrow morning so if nothing happens before then we get to meet our son tomorrow!

My parents and Will's dad are here to keep Eliza and celebrate Weldon's arrival! Eliza is loving all the attention.

During this "extra time"  Will and I have been having a blast with Miss Eliza. She is such a fun and sweet girl-- always making us laugh.

We have taught her to call Weldon "Bubba" since Weldon is a mouthful for a 17 month old. I don't think she's really aware that things are about to change quite a bit around here but I do think she is going to be a wonderful big sister!

Beginning of pregnancy to the end...

Valentine Cookie Decorating

Eliza and I had a little cookie decorating party (just the two of us) yesterday afternoon.

We don't give her sweets very often so she always gets really excited for them. Yesterday was no exception. I made heart shaped sugar cookies and we decorated them with white icing and pink sprinkles! She was a big fan of the sprinkles.

Taking the sprinkles off one by one.

Enjoying the icing.

Time to lick the icing off and eat the cookie!

Cookie decorating was a hit and I certainly enjoyed the sweet treat too!

And just because Eliza was being such a sweet pea when she woke up from her nap yesterday... Here are a few pictures of my blue-eyed baby!

I could just eat her up!!

Snow Day {Round 2}

We have been watching the snow fall around here all. day. long. KU was closed today as well as most other things in the surrounding areas.

Will and I were both surprisingly excited about all the snow and so was our little snow bunny!

This girl just loves to walk around in the snow.

Will helping Eliza put her gloves back on.

When Eliza and other little ones we were playing with were ready to go inside the daddies all went out for a little fun sledding behind the 4-wheeler. They were hilarious!

After Eliza's afternoon nap she was ready for more playtime. There was substantially more snow on the ground but Eliza managed to waddle through it. She even got excited about sledding down our driveway. It was adorable! She was grinning from ear to ear and when she got to the bottom she hopped up and asked for more!

Weldon's Sprinkle

My sweet friends threw a sprinkle yesterday afternoon for me and baby Weldon! It was a wonderful time with friends, delicious food and precious gifts for the little one!

Angela, April, Amanda & Mary hosted the party and did the most amazing job decorating and provided lots of yummy food!

She incorporated birds (my favorite) and some rustic touches. I just loved it!!

We played a cute game where all the ladies wrote down a question a mom might have on one piece of paper and the answer to that question on another. I then drew one question and answer from a basket and came up with some great advice. :)

My favorite was: How do you avoid getting peed on? Pass him off to daddy!

Sounds good to me. ;)

Here are some of the sweet gifts Weldon  received. My facial expressions on some of these are pretty funny (I guess I was really excited).

How handsome are these overalls and flannel shirt?! He's going to be dressed like his daddy. :)

And then a little preppy touch with these adorable nautical shoes.

Loved this plaid onesie too!

And the softest and sweetest blanket with owls on it.

And since I didn't get any posed pictures of my friends at the shower, here I am at 36 weeks (taken by the hubs right before the shower.

Snow Day

I'm so surprised by how much fun Eliza had walking through the snow! I incorrectly assumed that she would be too cold and start crying as soon as she stepped in it. That just wasn't the case at all! We were admiring Will's hard work of shoveling the driveway from the window when Eliza started getting fussy and pointing outside. I excitedly pulled out her snow bib and other snow gear that has yet to be worn this winter and got her all bundled up.

I really didn't think we were going to be outside for more than 5 minutes but she LOVED it.

I think it snowed about 2-3 inches which isn't very much for around here. We have 3 days of snow in the forecast over the next 10 days so Eliza will certainly have more fun to look forward to!

She even didn't mind when this happened. :)

Will did a great job shoveling the driveway for us. We have a date night tonight so I'm glad he made a path of for us to get out! :)

Our house in the snow.

Days and days of freezing temps and snow covered everything certainly isn't my favorite thing about living in the Midwest but I did enjoy our first play day in the snow!
