4th of July Festivites

I had a really low-key day yesterday and it was great!

We sent Will/dad off to NYC first thing in the morning. (He's up there for a quick weekend trip to attend a good friends wedding.) Unfortunately we were left behind on this trip but we had a fun day to make up for it!

Hugs & Kisses for dad!

While Eliza took her morning nap I made my first batch of homemade Popsicles!

Watermelon Mint

and Dark Chocolate with Choc Chips

I thought they were both delicious. Eliza did not.

Poor thing! Maybe she got a brain freeze?! I've never seen her get so upset so suddenly before.

Playing in her kiddie pool made the tears go away...

(The hat is about 3 sizes too big but I want it to fit next summer too.)

After some fun in the sun Eliza had some play time in her crib. Her new favorite activity is to throw her loveys over the side of her crib. :)

I managed to get Eliza to take a late afternoon nap so she could hang with some of our friends last night. (She usually goes to bed around 6:30 so I knew that going anywhere at 6 without a nap was not a good idea!) She was such a trooper and let me have a lot of fun with friends!

She got to hangout with her buddy Des

We had a cook out at Nate and Sarah's property in North Lawrence. Everything was delicious! It was complete with hotdogs, deviled eggs, watermelon and s'mores!

Sarah and I enjoyed our fair share of s'mores!

And Nate shot off some fireworks for us.

Then I came home, put the baby to bed and watched the NYC fireworks on tv (so the hubs and I kind of got to watch fireworks together). :)

Happy 4th of July!

  1. She's so precious! I love her cherry smock, too! Those popsicles looks delicious, I wanna make some too. Glad y'all had a wonderful fourth!!

  2. Sad we're seeing Will tomorrow and not you and Eliza!!

  3. Eliza is getting so big Christine! I love her little cherry smocked outfit! She's so adorable!
